A Life Taken, A Case Still Open
Sibongile, a 35-year-old mother of two from Tongaat, Durban, went missing on 19 May. Her disappearance followed multiple reports of abuse from her boyfriend, Mthokozisi Vilakazi, whose behavior and actions since her disappearance have raised serious red flags.
Despite eyewitness accounts of him burning her belongings, evicting her from her home, and now vanishing himself, no arrest has been made.

Community Reaction: Heartbroken, But Not Silent
“We knew it was her,” said one close friend. “But seeing it confirmed… it breaks us. Still, we won’t rest until Mthokozisi is held accountable.”
The family and community are calling on SAPS and national authorities to act swiftly. Why hasn’t a warrant been issued? Why was another man arrested instead?
A Public Plea for Justice
The public is now urging:
- 💥 SAPS to act without delay
- 🗣️ Communities to continue sharing Sibongile’s story
- 👁️ Whistleblowers to come forward
- 📝 Authorities to explain the delay in DNA processing and lack of accountability
