How Durban Businessman Loganathan Govender Went Missing
The late Loganathan (Logan) Govender, a respected businessman from Glenwood, Durban, was reported missing after he failed to return from an errand on Monday morning. According to his employees, Govender had left his business premises in Umbilo around 10:00, on Monday 20 October 2025, stating that he would be back shortly. When hours passed without any contact, concern grew among colleagues and family members.
Repeated attempts to reach him by phone were unsuccessful, as his mobile device remained switched off throughout the day.
He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes, and was driving his white Ford Ranger (registration CS93GL ZN).
The disappearance quickly gained public attention, prompting appeals on local community pages and missing persons groups across KwaZulu-Natal. Posters circulated widely on Facebook, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

Body of Missing Durban Man Found in Montclair Bush
At approximately 5:42 pm, members of the public alerted Siyeza Security after vagrants discovered a body in a bush along Benson Road in Montclair. Nimo, a member of the security team, contacted Ground Zero Search and Rescue administrator Denzil Govender, who had been assisting in the search.
Neighborhood Watch (NHW) members who were part of the search efforts recognized the body from the missing person flyer and immediately contacted authorities. Police units, emergency responders, and private security services were dispatched to the scene.
According to Govender’s update, “The area was secured and the relevant authorities called out to investigate further. A 9mm casing was found at the scene, leading to his demise. Montclair CAS 133/10/2025 — Murder.”
The Durban SAPS, iER, and the Provincial Operational Command Centre (POCC) were informed, while family members were later called in to identify the body. It was confirmed to be that of Mr. Logan Govender.

CST Nxele from the Montclair SAPS confirmed that a murder case has been opened. The body of the deceased showed two gunshot wounds, and evidence from the scene indicates the use of a 9mm firearm.
The Ford Ranger vehicle and cellphone belonging to the victim are still missing, raising the possibility of a robbery-related motive. However, police have not yet confirmed this as the official cause.
