“He lied about everything”—Family suspects foul play as woman disappears and boyfriend flees
Alberton, Gauteng – A desperate search is underway for Samkelisiwe Ntinga (32), a young mother from Leopard Rest Security Estate, whose car was found abandoned in Krugersdorp while her boyfriend, the last person to see her, is now on the run.
Ntinga, who works in auditing, was last seen by her family on Wednesday, 30 July, when she was picked up by her boyfriend, Gift Mncedisi Siyo, from work. The two reportedly shared a residence in Alberton.
What unfolded in the days that followed has left her family reeling, her employer scrambling for answers, and authorities under pressure to act swiftly.

A Web of Lies and a Vanished Woman
Initially, Siyo told Ntinga’s relatives that she was scheduled to work at a different depot on Thursday, 31 July, as part of her job rotation. But when colleagues were contacted, they confirmed that Samkelisiwe was not expected at any site that day.
Realizing the story didn’t add up, the boyfriend changed his version. He claimed to have dropped her off at Park Station in Johannesburg that Thursday morning. Again, no one saw her there, and no transport records or CCTV footage have been found to support the claim.
Her colleagues, alarmed by her sudden silence, pressed for action. After days of avoiding questions, Siyo finally opened a missing person case at the Alberton police station—but only on Monday, 4 August, nearly five days after she disappeared.

Security Firm Intervenes, Boyfriend Vanishes
Concerned about the lack of answers and the delayed police response, members of Samkelisiwe’s workplace arranged for a private security team to question the boyfriend directly on Tuesday morning.
According to a family member who spoke to Missing Person South Africa, during that conversation, “it became clear that he might have killed her a long time ago.” The boyfriend reportedly grew nervous and inconsistent, raising red flags for those present.
Shortly after this confrontation, Siyo asked to drive to Roodepoort, using Samkelisiwe’s white Suzuki Swift. That was the last time anyone saw him.
The vehicle was later discovered abandoned in Krugersdorp, with no sign of Samkelisiwe inside. The boyfriend is now officially on the run, with his last known location linked to the Simunye area in Westonaria, in the West Rand.

Who Is Gift Mncedisi Siyo?
According to available information, Gift Mncedisi Siyo is a South African national believed to be originally from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape. He had been residing in Simunye, Westonaria.
He is described as tall and slim, speaks isiXhosa, and is known to have used Samkelisiwe’s car in the days after her disappearance.
As of now, he has taken only his cellphone and disappeared. No official warrant for his arrest has been confirmed, but police sources close to the case say efforts to locate him are underway.

A Mother Disappears
Samkelisiwe, a devoted mother to a one-year-old daughter, has not contacted family, friends, or colleagues since the morning of 31 July. Both her phones have remained switched off.
“She’s not the kind of person to disappear without saying anything,” said one family member. “We knew something was wrong the moment he started lying.”
While police have not yet confirmed whether the body of a woman found in connection with the abandoned car is that of Samkelisiwe, her family fears the worst. A confirmation is pending, and the family is preparing for the possibility of tragic news.
