Three SAPS Constables Vanished — Then Five Bodies Were Found

It began with the disappearance of three young constables:

  • Constable Cebekhulu Linda (24-year-old male)
  • Constable Keamogetswe Buys (30-year-old female)
  • Constable Boipelo Senoge (20-year-old female)

They were last seen traveling in a white VW Polo sedan (Reg: JCL 401 FS) from Bloemfontein to Limpopo. Their last known location was the Engen Garage near Grasmere Toll Plaza along the N1, on Wednesday, 23 April 2025.

After that — complete silence. No cellphone signal. No tracking device. No trace.

Until now.

Drones Lead Police to Grim Discovery — But Something Doesn’t Add Up

This week, drone operators made a chilling discovery: a vehicle submerged in the river. But to the public’s shock, the car wasn’t a white Polo — it was a Renault.

“Right now, we are relying on fingerprints and forensic confirmation before we identify the bodies,” police said at a tense press briefing.

So far, five bodies have been recovered, in stages:

  • Initially: Two men and one woman
  • Hours later: Two additional bodies pulled out

Yet the identity of the victims remains unconfirmed. Police say:

“It’s too early to say if these are the missing officers. We must wait for fingerprint results. We don’t want to speculate.”

A Nation on Edge — Families Await Identification as Search Continues

The situation has created emotional turmoil for the constables’ families, who were called in for potential identification, though police urge the public not to jump to conclusions.

The math doesn’t add up:

  • Three missing constables (2 women, 1 man)
  • Five bodies found (possibly more men than women)
  • Vehicle found = Renault
  • Polo = Still missing

And one more haunting fact: one body is still believed to be in the water, as divers continue their search.

Social Media Erupts: Where Is the Polo? What Really Happened?

The confusion and inconsistencies have sent shockwaves through social media. Citizens demand answers:

“How can five bodies be found, but the Polo is nowhere?”
“Was another group involved?”
“Is this foul play — or a tragic accident?”

The SAPS Speaks Out: “We Are Not Ruling Anything Out”

High-ranking officers are urging calm and patience. National Commissioner General Fannie Masemola initially offered a R350,000 reward for information, sparking a country-wide effort to help find the constables.

Now, SAPS is not ruling out any possibilities — including multiple vehicles involved, mistaken identities, or even criminal foul play.

The Wait for Truth

South Africa waits with bated breath for the fingerprint results and official identifications.

Until then, the mystery continues.

The Hennops River may hold the answers, but so far, it has only raised more questions than it answered.
