Fezile Ngubane: A Suspect or a Scapegoat?

Community Speaks Out as New Details Emerge in Olorato Mongale Case

Latest update | CONFIRMED: Fezile Ngubane Cleared in Olorato Mongale Murder Case

The tragic death of Olorato Mongale has sent shockwaves through communities across South Africa. As the investigation unfolds, a surprising twist has emerged involving one of the men linked to the case — Fezile Ngubane. While some initially labeled him as a suspect, a different narrative is beginning to take shape.

Fezile’s Side of the Story

Sources close to Fezile Ngubane’s family have shared with Missing Person South Africa that he may have had no involvement in the murder. According to these community members, Fezile was at home on the Sunday Olorato was murdered. He is known in the neighborhood for washing cars to survive and, sadly, also struggles with addiction.

What complicates matters is that Fezile lives near Philangenkosi, the man who was fatally shot by police. Allegedly, Philangenkosi once asked Fezile for his ID documents to open a Bolt account. One of these identity documents was later found among the 28 IDs discovered in Philangenkosi’s possession.

“Indaba ka Fezile inzima,” said the source . “Umakhelwane wami uFezile, uPhila wathatha i-ID yakhe wathi uzovula i-acc ka Bolt. Wamunika no-R100 wayomuvulela i-acc e-bank. Fezile ubebonakala emgwaqeni izinsuku zonke egeza izimoto, akaze ahambe.”

Another source added:

“Yebo, ngeSonto uFezile wayeziwashela imoto emgwaqeni. Akaze ahambe weekend yonke. In fact, zonke lezi zinsuku besimbona.”

A Voluntary Surrender

Following public speculation, Fezile reportedly handed himself over to the police, accompanied by his father. This gesture has raised more questions than answers. So far, no CCTV footage has placed Fezile at any of the malls alongside the other two individuals implicated in the case, according to our sources.

This has led to growing belief within the community that Fezile may be a victim in this ordeal, perhaps unknowingly exploited by Philangenkosi.

Police Yet to Confirm

It is important to note that although these accounts are based on credible community sources, the South African Police Service (SAPS) has not yet released an official statement confirming or denying Fezile Ngubane’s involvement. Until such confirmation is made, it remains vital that the public avoids jumping to conclusions.

We urge everyone to stay calm, allow the law to take its course, and avoid spreading unverified rumors.

Community Reflections

The case has sparked intense debate online, with many calling for a deeper look into how vulnerable individuals, especially those dealing with addiction, can be manipulated into criminal activity, knowingly or not.

“Kuyadabukisa. Sometimes our people are just struggling to survive,” commented one neighbor. “That doesn’t make them criminals.”
