Durban, South Africa – A frantic plea has been sent out for the whereabouts of Nompumelelo Charlene Ngema, affectionately known as Sgqeh, who was last seen in Kenneth Gardens, Umbilo, where she grew up.
The 26-year-old woman has been missing since December last year, and her mother, who is in critical health condition, is desperately searching for her.

A viral social media post has ignited concern as the family appeals to the public:
“Sanibonani ekhaya, bomama! Please help us find our sister, Nompumelelo Charlene Ngema, known as Sgqeh. She lived at the flats in Kenneth Gardens, Umbilo, but she was last seen in December last year. While the family is reaching out for help, shocking details have surfaced about Sgqeh’s life before she went missing. According to a close source, a woman who claims to have seen her last:
“I last saw her wearing brown pyjamas at Davenport. She had gotten into drugs and started stealing from Nigerian dealers—so I hear. I asked her boyfriend, the one who introduced her to these substances, if he knew where she was. He immediately blocked me.”
Abandoned and Forgotten?
Sgqeh’s disappearance is clouded with controversy. Sources close to her claim that her family cut ties with her after she became involved with drugs, leading many to question why they are only looking for her now.
“Her family abandoned her when she started using, and they never looked for her till today,” said a source.
