Lindokuhle Siyoyo was originally from Kumasomntwana in Emacwerheni, Eastern Cape. She was reported missing after she was last seen on Friday, 19 December 2024, in Mount Frere.
On the day she disappeared, Lindokuhle was at a salon where she was getting her hair done. The exact location of the salon remains unknown. Her mother had travelled from Cape Town and planned to return home with her that same day, but Lindokuhle stayed behind after her mother left due to fatigue.
Contact with her was lost later that day, and concern quickly escalated.

Lindokuhle Siyoyo Missing Case Turns Into Murder Investigation
The missing person search came to a tragic end when police contacted the family on Monday, 29 December. They were asked to come in for a body viewing IN Kokstad.
According to Lindokuhle’s aunt, the family confirmed that the body was hers.
“We were called by the police and told they had found a body,” she said. “When we went for the viewing, it was confirmed to be Lindokuhle. We were then told it is now a murder investigation.”
Police have not yet released the official cause of death and say they are awaiting post-mortem results.
Police Investigation Follows Alleged Kidnapping Claims and Ransom Calls
During the days following Lindokuhle’s disappearance, the family reported receiving repeated phone calls from an unknown man. The caller allegedly demanded money, claiming he would release Lindokuhle in exchange.
The man reportedly told the family he was taking her to Kokstad in KwaZulu-Natal. Police attempted to trace the numbers used, but searches at the traced locations did not produce any leads.
The family later sent money as demanded. After that, the calls stopped, and Lindokuhle was never released. Police have not yet confirmed how these calls relate to the murder investigation.

Lindokuhle’s death has left her family devastated and searching for answers. Relatives say they are struggling to understand how a young woman could disappear in broad daylight and be found days later without clear explanations.
