MANKWENG, LIMPOPO – The community of Mankweng is in distress as police launch a desperate search for 89-year-old Nare Dorcus, who mysteriously vanished from her home in Mothapo, Unit G. Her disappearance has left family, friends, and residents fearing the worst, as days pass with no sign of the beloved grandmother.
Vanished Without a Trace: What We Know So Far
Nare Dorcus was last seen on Saturday, 15 March 2025, at her home. But by the time her family realized something was terribly wrong, she was already gone. After an agonizing wait, her loved ones reported her missing at Mankweng SAPS on Friday, 21 March 2025. The case has now triggered a full-scale search operation led by the Police Search and Rescue Unit, scouring the area for any sign of her whereabouts.
A Community on Edge: Where Could She Be?
Family members describe Nare as a kind and gentle soul who rarely wandered far from home. When she was last seen, she was wearing a green khiba dress and a head wrap—a familiar sight to those who know her well. But what happened after she left home? Did she get lost? Was she taken? These are the haunting questions keeping her family awake at night.
Police and Rescue Teams Leave No Stone Unturned
With every passing hour, the search intensifies. Detective Warrant Officer Sy Ramakgolo, leading the operation, urges the public to come forward with any information that could help bring Nare home. “We are exhausting all resources to find her. If you have seen her or know anything, please reach out immediately,” he pleaded.
