Bloemfontein/QwaQwa – The family of 36-year-old Radebe Lerato Mishack is pleading with the public for help after he went missing on Sunday, 13 July 2025, while traveling in a taxi heading to Rocklands in Bloemfontein.
Originally from Makwane, QwaQwa, Mishack was last heard from while inside a taxi. He worked as a spray painter at SA Truck Bodies and was known to be responsible and communicative, especially when facing challenges like a lost phone. This time, however, things have taken a troubling turn.
“He called us from a taxi to say he was on his way to Rocklands, but since then, we haven’t heard from him,” said a concerned family member.
Shortly after his disappearance, the family discovered that he had lost his phone in the taxi. A man who identified himself as the taxi driver initially answered the calls, confirming that the phone had been left behind. However, after multiple follow-up attempts, the driver stopped answering calls, raising further concern and suspicion.
“Normally, when Lerato loses his phone, he borrows someone’s phone or goes to a friend’s place to call us. But this time, it’s been too long — and no one has heard from him.”
The family is unsure whether the driver was part of a public taxi service or an e-hailing platform. What adds to the mystery is that Lerato is not familiar with anyone in Bloemfontein, except possibly his girlfriend named Naledi, whose whereabouts and contact details are also currently unknown.
“We’re in QwaQwa and don’t know anyone where he stays. We are helpless and desperate. We just want to know he’s safe.”
