Kraaifontein, Western Cape—Authorities are urgently appealing to the public for any information regarding the whereabouts of 13-year-old Stabiye Mthembu, who has been reported missing under concerning circumstances.
Stabiye Mthembu, a resident of Kraaifontein, was last seen on the morning of 26 August 2024, when she was dropped off at her school in Brackenfell at approximately 07h13.
Despite being dropped off safely, Stabiye did not attend her classes, and her absence was noted shortly thereafter.
A missing person report was filed just one hour later, but no leads have surfaced since her disappearance.
Stabiye is described as a 13-year-old female with an average build, standing at 1.8 meters tall and weighing around 62 kilograms.
She has brown eyes, black hair, and distinct features including normal, flat, small ears, a rounded nose tip, and thick lips.
At the time of her disappearance, Stabiye was wearing her school uniform: a grey skirt, a navy blazer, and black school shoes.
There are no known scars or tattoos that could further assist in identifying her.
The circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain unclear, and her family, along with local authorities, are growing increasingly concerned for her safety.
The Kraaifontein Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offenses Unit (FCS) is leading the investigation.
