Ethekwini, KZN – A 65-year-old mother has issued a desperate plea for help in finding the body of her murdered son, two months after he was abducted and allegedly killed in Verulam.
The family of Sthembiso Micheal Jali, also known as Bruce or Sthe, visited Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) headquarters on Sunday morning seeking assistance in locating his remains. Jali was last seen being beaten and forced into the trunk of a white Toyota Etios. According to information received, he was killed over an unpaid debt, and his body was dumped.

Law enforcement questioned the suspected driver of the vehicle, but he denied involvement. Despite a Missing Persons Report being filed at SAPS Verulam under reference number 291/08/2025, the murdered son has yet to be found.

Family’s Anguish
The ongoing search for the murdered son has left the family shattered. His ailing mother’s health has worsened since learning of his fate. She continues to beg for help in recovering her son’s body, hoping to lay him to rest.
Jali leaves behind a 10-year-old son who resides with his mother in Mhlasini, KZN.
“This is about dignity and closure. The family simply wants the chance to bury him,” a source close to the case said.

Community Appeal
Although Jali had been living on the streets of Verulam for two years and struggled with drug use, his family insists he does not deserve to be discarded and forgotten. They are appealing to the community for information that could lead to the recovery of the murdered son.
Police are also urging anyone with knowledge of the case to come forward. Even anonymous tips, they say, could help bring answers to a grieving family.
