The family of Ntombifuthi Evelina Hadebe (43) is pleading for the public’s help in locating her after she went missing while travelling home from work earlier this month.
Ntombifuthi left work on Friday, 4 July 2025, and was meant to spend her leave at her sister’s place in Bester, Ladysmith — a routine she follows during time off. She was expected to return by Tuesday, 8 July, but never arrived and has not been in contact since.

In a recent development, she was last seen on Monday, 15 July, in the Pinetown area, where witnesses say Ntombifuthi appeared mentally unstable and was spotted at a soup kitchen.

Earlier reports also confirm that she was seen near Knowles SPAR in Pinetown, wearing a white dress similar to the attire worn by members of the Nazareth Baptist Church (Shembe). She has dreadlocks and a distinctive beaded ornament on her right leg, which may help the public identify her.
A family member shared, “She doesn’t look okay in the video. Something is wrong. We don’t know what happened. She was supposed to be with family, but she never arrived.”
Her family suspects she may be going through a mental health crisis or may be under spiritual or cultural distress, although this remains unconfirmed. Her sister travelled from their hometown of Bergville to assist in the search and has been walking around Pinetown in hopes of finding her.
A missing person case has been officially opened, but her loved ones are now appealing to the public, citing a slow response from authorities.
