A Peaceful Visit Turns Into a Nightmare

What was meant to be a quiet family visit to a farm in Haarlem, near Uniondale in the Western Cape, has turned into a chilling mystery. Patrick Roman (34), originally from Oudtshoorn, has not been seen since 31 March 2025.
The 34-year-old man had travelled with his parents to the farm the day before. But by the next day, Patrick walked off—and never returned. No calls. No messages. No trace.
Patrick was last seen wearing a black and white Orlando Pirates T-shirt and green tracksuit pants. He reportedly left the farmhouse without saying where he was going. That was the last time anyone saw him.
Since then, there’s been no confirmed sightings, no financial transactions, and no communication with loved ones. His phone has remained off, and searches in the surrounding areas have come up empty.
“We just want to know he’s safe. That’s all we want,” said one of Patrick’s close family members, holding back tears.
Police Investigation Underway – But Leads Are Scarce
According to Missing Children South Africa, a person goes missing every five hours in the country. While some are found, many disappear without a trace, leaving families in emotional limbo.
Patrick’s disappearance is not just a number—it’s a human story. A story of a man with a family. A son, a friend, possibly a father… gone.
