Alberton, Gauteng – The worst has been confirmed. Samkelisiwe Ntinga (32), the Alberton woman reported missing last week, has been found dead, her body burnt beyond recognition and dumped in a drain near Krugersdorp.

Her workplace confirmed the news in an internal message this morning, calling her death the result of “an unthinkable act of violence.” Her colleagues, family, and friends are reeling.

The discovery was made just metres from where her car—a white Suzuki Swift—was abandoned last week. The car was left by her boyfriend, Gift Mncedisi Siyo, who fled the scene and has not been seen since. He is now the prime suspect in what appears to be a premeditated and brutal killing.

Burnt Body Found, Lies Unravel

On Thursday, 7 August, a burnt corpse was found in a stormwater drain near the area where the vehicle was left. Initial reports indicated that it was burnt beyond recognition, but people close to the family viewed the remains and believed them to be Samke.

Today, that belief was confirmed.

Colleagues at her workplace described her as “a gentle, kind-hearted soul,” and said her passing has “shocked and devastated” everyone who worked with Samkelisiwe Ntinga.

Boyfriend on the Run

Gift Mncedisi Siyo, her boyfriend, has not been seen since shortly after he abandoned Samkelisiwe Ntinga’s car and fled the area. In the days leading up to her disappearance, he reportedly gave multiple false accounts of her whereabouts, including claiming to have dropped her off at Park Station and fabricating a work assignment that didn’t exist.

He is originally from Simunye, Westonaria, and is believed to have ties to Mthatha in the Eastern Cape. He is described as tall, slim, and Xhosa-speaking. He left only with his phone, abandoning all personal items.

At this time, police have not issued a public wanted notice, but sources say he is the main person of interest in an unfolding murder investigation.
