Family Continues Searching for Charmaine After 27 Years
For Janet and her family, Charmaine’s disappearance has remained an unanswered part of their family history for more than two decades.
Janet says she was raised by her father and stepmother and, because she was only a young child when Charmaine disappeared, many details from that period are no longer clear to her.

The family is appealing to people who may have known Charmaine in Johannesburg, particularly around Mayfair, as well as anyone who may have had contact with her elsewhere in Gauteng or the Eastern Cape.
Details such as a person’s home, family connections and daily routine can sometimes help people recognise a long-term missing-person case. Janet has also expressed her willingness to provide further information where possible and to try to obtain additional details that may help with the search.
