The South African Police Service (SAPS) has intensified its efforts to locate 23-year-old Tristan Chowles, a trainee currently enrolled in the 9-month Basic Police Learning Development Programme (BPLDP) at the SAPS Tshwane Academy. Chowles was last seen on Thursday, 19 September 2024, following his discharge from a hospital in Pretoria.
Chowles was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday, 18 September 2024, and discharged the following day. His sudden disappearance has raised concerns, and SAPS is conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his case. Police have mobilized extensive resources as part of the search for the missing trainee.
Chowles is described as a white male, standing 1.78 meters tall, with short blonde hair and blue eyes. A missing persons case has been registered at the Garsfontein police station.
The SAPS is urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Tristan Chowles to come forward. Members of the public are encouraged to contact the Garsfontein detective commander, Lieutenant Colonel Tibane, at 082 822 8338.
