The Search for Missing Owami Radebe Continues in Kwamashu Today – Family Desperate for Answers

The search for 19-year-old Owami Radebe is still ongoing.

Owami, who has a disability and attended special schools, went missing on 16 August 2024, after being last seen at Kwa Mashu station.

His family has tirelessly searched for him across Durban, leaving no stone unturned.

“In our efforts, we have combed through Durban city center, checking under bridges, around the beachside, in hospitals, and at various taxi ranks but I can’t find my son” said the mother.

They’ve distributed flyers and spoken to vendors, taxi drivers, and anyone who might have seen Owami, but there have been no leads so far.

Owami is a special young man who earned a living by washing cars and helping vendors at the Kwa Mashu station.

His family is heartbroken and desperate to find him.

The search will continue today (Sat 31), focusing on the Kwa Mashu area, including the bushes and other potential hiding spots.

We are calling on volunteers from KwaMashu and the surrounding areas to join the search today.
