Durban, South Africa – 26 June 2025

The family of Snethemba Mthethwa, a 33-year-old woman from Mandeni, is pleading with the public for help after she mysteriously went missing on Tuesday morning.
Snethemba, who works at Capitec Bank in Durban’s Workshop area, was expected to travel home to Mandeni around 11:00 AM, but she never arrived. Since then, her phone has been off, and attempts to track her vehicle have yielded no results.
“We are heartbroken and scared. No one has seen or heard from her since yesterday morning. Her home is empty, she didn’t report to work, and her phone is off,” said Nomonde Mdletshe, a close relative.
The family has not been able to confirm what she was wearing when she left, and details about her newly changed car number plate remain unknown. Despite using tracking technology, her vehicle could not be located, raising even more concern about her whereabouts.

Snethemba had been staying in Durban during the week due to work responsibilities, but would often travel home to Mandeni on weekends. Her sudden disappearance has left both her family and colleagues in distress.
A missing person report is expected to be filed with the police, but the family is urging anyone with information to come forward immediately.
“We’ve searched her home, called her friends and colleagues, and tried everything we can. We’re now turning to the public for help,” added Mdletshe.
