Police in Devon, Gauteng, are investigating a missing person and kidnapping case after 44-year-old Mthuthuzeli Elvis Jangaiso was reported missing under concerning circumstances.
According to information released by Devon SAPS, Jangaiso was last seen on the night of 19 June 2026 at approximately 22:00 after closing his bottle store. His disappearance has raised serious concerns among family members and police after signs of a possible disturbance were discovered at his home and his vehicle was found to be missing.
What Happened to Mthuthuzeli Elvis Jangaiso in Devon
The investigation began after Mthuthuzeli’s brother became concerned when he was unable to reach him the following morning.
Police said that on 20 June 2026 at around 09:10, the brother attempted to contact Mthuthuzeli Elvis Jangaiso to obtain the keys for the bottle store. When repeated calls went unanswered, he decided to visit Jangaiso’s residence on Jikeleza Street in Impumelelo Location, Devon.
Upon arriving at the property, he found the gate locked. Unable to gain access through normal means, he reportedly climbed over the fence and entered the premises.
Inside the residence, he discovered what appeared to be signs of a disturbance. Clothing was scattered across the floor and the room looked as though it had been ransacked. Despite searching the property, Jangaiso could not be found.
His white Mercedes-Benz, bearing registration number KP10DPGP, was also missing.
The circumstances surrounding his disappearance have prompted police to investigate both a missing person case and a possible kidnapping.

Following the report, Devon SAPS opened an investigation and established a Joint Operations Centre (JOC) to coordinate efforts to locate Jangaiso and determine what happened.
