Simphiwe Shirly Mngomezulu, 22, has been reported missing after she left her home in Swaneville Block 9, Kagiso, Gauteng, at around 7pm on Friday, 4 September 2026. She had told her mother that she was going to check on someone at a tavern opposite the gate of the property where the family was staying.

Her family became increasingly concerned when she did not return home and could not be located over the following days. The disappearance has since been reported to the Kagiso police.

What Happened to Simphiwe Mngomezulu in Kagiso

According to the family, Simphiwe left home on Friday evening after telling her mother that she wanted to check on someone at a nearby tavern.

The tavern is reportedly situated opposite the gate of the property where the family was staying. Simphiwe was expected to return, but she did not come home.

Her family initially thought she may have gone out with friends because it was the weekend. However, concern grew when there was still no sign of her the following day.

By Sunday, the family had become seriously worried about her whereabouts.

She is female and is currently 22 years old, with her 23rd birthday expected in October.

At the time she was last seen, she was reportedly wearing black tracksuit trousers, a Hemisphere hoodie and a black jacket.

The family has appealed to people living in Kagiso, Swaneville and surrounding communities to remain alert and to report any information that could help locate her.

Simphiwe’s mother is worried about her continued absence and is asking members of the public to help bring her home safely.
