The Day Kaome Went Missing
Moitlhabi, who resides in Mahikeng Village in Tshidilamolomo, was last seen on Friday, 25 July 2025, around 19:00. According to his co-worker, he had been at work on a farm in Swartruggens before unexpectedly leaving in his employer’s vehicle, a 1983 blue Toyota bakkie with registration number SD 588 DG. He did not inform anyone where he was going, and he never returned home.
“He just drove off. None of us knew why or where,” his co-worker recalled, describing the moment with visible worry. “We thought he would be back by morning, but days went by and there was no sign of him.”
Family’s Plea for Answers
Moitlhabi’s disappearance has left his loved ones devastated. His family says they have no idea what might have prompted him to leave that evening.
“It’s unlike him to disappear without saying anything,” a close family member shared. “Every day we wait for news, hoping he walks through the door. We just want him safe.”
Describing him, the family said Moitlhabi is fair in complexion, with brown eyes, black afro hair, and a moustache. He is 1.65m tall, weighs about 60kg, and was last seen wearing a blue denim and an unknown shirt.

Police Investigation on The Missing Persons Case
Police have confirmed that an extensive search has been carried out, but so far, all leads have come to a dead end. Constable Orapeleng Kwatisi, the investigating officer, said:
“We followed every piece of information that came through, but nothing has led us to Mr Moitlhabi or the vehicle. We are asking the public to assist us. Even the smallest detail could help.”
Authorities emphasize that the case is still open and that any tip, no matter how minor it may seem, could be the breakthrough needed.
A Community Left with Questions
The disappearance has stirred concern not only in Mahikeng but across surrounding villages. Many residents are troubled by how a man and a vehicle could vanish without a trace. Some community members have organized prayer meetings for his safe return, while others continue to spread his photo and details on social media.
“Something like this shakes us all,” said a local pastor. “It reminds us how vulnerable we are, and how much we need to look out for one another.”
Anyone with information that might help locate Kaome Aldriaan Moitlhabi or the missing vehicle is urged to contact Constable Orapeleng Kwatisi on 082 373 9847, their nearest police station, or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
